Why has the government decided to discontinue Tuition Assistance?

With all the talk of sequestration one can understand that some cuts must be made. But why would we choose to cut meaningful benefits from our active duty military members. These proud Americans sacrifice their lives and livelihood to keep us free and although these educational programs or voluntary education are BENEFITS these programs allow a military members to get ahead while still on active duty. It's bizarre that we chose to give arms to foreign countries even some of which are not supporting our views at large in the hundreds of millions and billions of dollars, and cut meaningful benefits for our citizens at home, it's a disgrace!

What I believe is that the leadership in this country is weakening our military and trying to cut down on numbers by pulling away some of the benefits that our active duty military people look forward to and have used the sequestration as an excuse to do it.
Has Congress decided to decrease their paychecks, NO!
Are our politicians in Washington making any significant cuts to the government's budget, NO!
Are our government leaders even being honest with the American people, NO!
Should we be protesting and taking our government back, YES!
Should we be marching on Washington, YES!

So what's next? Well first you need to get informed, need to understand the effect of all the decisions these politicians are making for us. Remember we have hired them we voted them in, we give them the power they have to make the laws. This move by the Army and Marine Corps and soon to be, by the Navy should infuriate us? I believe not. Seems to me that most people don't even care, which is also a disgrace. We must stand with our military members and insist that our government support these meaningful educational programs and do whatever it takes to keep tuition assistance or TA enforce.
